IPL is the most effective form of painless permanent hair removal to date and has won FDA approval in the US in recognition of its safety. This procedure can be used on all parts of the body quite quickly using a 12.5 cm square spot sized hand piece, compared to the original form of permanent hair removal (Electrolysis) when they can only treat one hair at a time, which is not only painful but very time consuming.
Treatments are carried out every 4 weeks on the face & 6 to 8 weeks on the body, making it a very affordable solution to the removal of hair permanently.
This system uses a combination of yellow and red light wavelengths, which target either the chromophores in the skin, hemoglobin in the broken capillary or the natural melanin in the hair, depending on which treatment is undertaken.
HAIR REMOVAL
Energy levels are set to suit the clients skin & hair type, the hair needs to be between 1mm and 3mm long, the area is slightly cooled before flashing the IPL handset over, the light travels down the hair shaft, converting to heat (up to 70 degrees Centigrade) once it reaches the follicle; if the hair is in the Anagen growth phase (when connected to the blood supply) it disables the follicle from ever being able to produce another hair. This treatment also rejuvenates the skin whilst permanently reducing the hair.
If you have shaving or waxing problems like rashes, razor burn, in-growing hairs or infection, then this is the miracle treatment for you! Not only does it reduce the hair on each treatment, but it heals the skin very quickly & any infection or angry irritation clears soon after.
A course of treatment is required to allow for the new growth phases & to treat the existing hair that has not been in the anagen phase on previous treatments. If 2 or more areas are treated at the same time, we tailor make a package for either one session or the full course of treatment, which reduces the price significantly.
As every individual responds differently to treatment and hair growth is very much dependent on hormones, medication, medical issues & even stress levels stimulate unwanted hair, it is always difficult to predict how many treatments are needed to completely be hair free. IPL & Laser cannot guarantee 100% hair removal as follicles lie dormant sometimes for years & then can suddenly be stimulated by any of the above.
The advantage of this pulsed laser system compared to Laser, is that large areas can be treated relatively quickly and the pulsed filters can be changed and varied according to the skin-type & hair colour to increase efficiency & ensure maximum results. With lasers it is a single shot & only dark hair on pale skin can be treated successfully.
An in-depth Consultation & skin patch test is provided free of charge. A brief medical history is taken (anything that can be a contraindication to having IPL) then once approved, treatment can commence 24- 48 hours later.
